Some fascinating results last weekend shook up the Canadian Premier League table a little, so there's a lot to watch heading into Matchweek 16.
It begins with a fascinating test for two of the league's strongest teams, followed by a jam-packed triple-header of action on Saturday.

Friday, Aug. 7 - Forge FC vs. Vancouver FC

Redemption is on the table for Vancouver in Hamilton, as they return to the site of their most recent defeat. When VFC played Forge on Canada Day, they went up 2-0 before ultimately losing 3-2.
Vancouver have won all four of their games since and shot up the table into third, so now they're faced with another test against the league's top side.
Forge were held to a draw by Halifax last Sunday, but they haven't lost since May 24. They're still leading the pack, but with a cushion of just two points they'll be eager to keep racking up wins.

Atleti return home trying to get back into third place, against a Halifax side they've already beaten twice this season.
Vanni Sartini and the Wanderers showed their defensive mettle against Forge last Sunday, but they need to find the net more consistently.
Can Halifax turn the tide at a venue where they've struggled in the past? Or can Ottawa get back to winning ways on home turf?

Pacific remain at home this weekend still looking for their first win of 2026. The Tridents have had opportunities in recent clashes, but couldn't convert their advantages into a result.
This time, they take on a wounded Inter Toronto team that has lost six of its last seven games. However, Pacific will have to play without captain Josh Heard and attacking talisman Marco Bustos, with both players suspended.
Both teams have a chance to right the ship against a struggling opponent; which of them will seize it?
Saturday, Aug. 8 - FC Supra du Québec vs. Cavalry FC

The weekend's action concludes in Laval, where Supra host a familiar foe. They lost 2-1 to the Cavs in Calgary just 11 days prior to this contest, and dropped a 1-0 result at home back in May.
However, Supra have looked like a thorny opponent for Cavalry in both matchups.
Tommy Wheeldon Jr.'s Cavalry looked unstoppable last week against Inter Toronto, though; that 5-0 win brought them within touching distance of the top of the table. They won't want to let up now.

Lys Mousset, Vancouver FC
The veteran French striker has found his footing in Vancouver, and he is demonstrating exactly why the Eagles wanted to bring in someone of his calibre. Mousset has three goals and two assists in his last three matches, and his finishing ability seems to have brought VFC to a new level.
