With seven weeks remaining in the 2026 Canadian Premier League regular season, the fate of many teams' seasons hangs in the balance.
This weekend is the first of the year which could see clubs clinch playoff spots, and another become mathematically eliminated.
Here are all the key details for Matchweek 21:
Saturday, Sept. 12 - FC Supra du Québec vs. Halifax Wanderers

It's reaching must-win territory in Laval on Saturday as FC Supra du Québec host the Halifax Wanderers.
Sitting eight and ten points, respectively, out of the playoffs with just seven weeks remaining, they are running out of runway for a last-second takeoff.
In both meetings so far this season, the Halifax Wanderers had the lead before FC Supra came back to win. The last time, on July 24 in Halifax, Loïc Kwemi scored the fastest hat-trick in league history in just over 12 minutes to erase a 2-0 Wanderers lead.
It is Supra, however, who have struggled to hold leads lately; they have led in seven of their past eight matches in all competitions. Now, they don't have much more room for error.
Saturday, Sept. 12 - Forge FC vs. Atlético Ottawa

It's second versus third in Hamilton on Saturday evening as Forge FC host Atlético Ottawa.
With just two wins in their past eight matches in all competitions, Forge will be desperate to get back on track and make sure rivals Cavalry don't pull away in the CPL Shield race.
Atlético Ottawa have given Forge fits like few other opponents in recent years, however. They have defeated them just four times in their past 14 meetings.
The sides have one win each against the other this year, but another three points could be huge on Saturday would be massive, especially with the potential of a playoff meeting looming.
Forge could officially book their ticket to the dance depending upon how this and other results shake out this weekend.
If they win and neither Inter Toronto nor FC Supra win their matches, Forge are in.
Sunday, Sept. 13 - Inter Toronto vs. Vancouver FC

Sunday is as close to a cup final as it gets for Inter Toronto during the regular season, as they host Vancouver FC at York Lions Stadium.
Win, and they close the gap between them and Vancouver to seven points, still with two games in hand. Lose, and it becomes 13 with just eight games remaining — all but mathematically over for their playoff hopes.
Inter Toronto missed a big chance to make that gap even smaller during a midweek 3-3 draw with Pacific FC.
The Eagles, meanwhile, snapped a four-game losing skid this past Sunday, and now search to secure their spot above the playoff line.
Sunday, Sept. 13 - Pacific FC vs. Cavalry FC

The matchweek concludes on Vancouver Island, where the league leaders come to town to face bottom-of-the-table Pacific FC.
Cavalry will be plenty motivated, knowing that a win or draw would not only maintain their four-point gap at the top, but clinch a playoff position as well.
The Cavs could also clinch if Inter Toronto and Supra drop points, but they won't be scoreboard watching.
For Pacific, only a win keeps them from becoming the first team to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It won't come easy, as they have just one win against Cavalry in their past 16 meetings.
But the Tridents are relishing the role of spoiler down the stretch, having dealt a big blow to Inter Toronto's playoff hopes on Wednesday. They look to do the same to Cavalry's Shield dreams.

Nathaniel Edwards, Cavalry FC
As the Canadian Premier League run-in begins, Cavalry FC winger Nathaniel Edwards is quickly proving himself to be a star in this league. With four goals in his past seven matches, Edwards' lethal ability to cut in from the left wing and curl strikes into the opposite corner of the net has become a vital weapon in the league's best attack. Adept on both sides of the ball as well, his defensive coverage and one-v-one ability, both with and without the ball, make him a game-changer and a key player to watch for Cavalry and in the CPL's title race.
