Vancouver FC's hat-trick hero helped them to a huge home victory.

The Canadian Premier League's Golden Boot race has a new leader.

After a first-half hat-trick against Inter Toronto at the Langley Events Centre on Saturday, Mohammed Amissi has six on the season. It was the first-ever hat-trick in Vancouver FC's club history — and came in a massive 4-0 victory.

That performance made him the clear choice for Matchweek 12's Maple Lodge Farms Player of the Week.

He scored his first in the sixth minute on a deflected strike from the top of the box, and added a second on a great cross from Thierno Bah in the 38th, before completing an incredible first half by slotting home the rebound of an Emrick Fotsing strike in the 43rd minute.

The Burundi international, who played for his country against Morocco prior to the World Cup, has had an immediate impact on this Eagles team. He is the first Vancouver FC player to win the league's Player of the Week award this season.

They will now need him to be at his best again in the week ahead, as they take on CF Montréal over two legs in the TELUS Canadian Championship. It kicks off on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on OneSoccer. Get tickets here.
