Gustavo Leal has only officially been on the job with Atlético Ottawa for less than 50 days.
But his impact in the nation's capital is already being felt, as Atleti enjoyed an outstanding August.
With Atlético Ottawa strengthening their spot above the playoff line, and leaping Vancouver FC in the table, Gustavo Leal has been named the CPL's Manager of the Month for August.
His club picked up four wins in the league (going 4-2-0 during an incredibly busy month), defeating the Halifax Wanderers (2-1), Vancouver FC (4-0) and Inter Toronto (2-1) at home, as well as FC Supra du Québec (2-1) at Stade Boréale.
The month also saw his side pick up an incredible nine points from losing positions, continuing their reputation as the CPL's comeback kings.
Leal is the fourth manager to win the monthly award, after Vancouver FC's Martin Nash took home the honour for both June and July.
