Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) today announced it has signed Canadian midfielder Micah Hyatt to a Development Contract.
Hyatt, 17, joins the club’s 2026 roster, following his time with Cavalry FC II in the Alberta Premier League.
Hyatt is a midfielder who played for Edmonton youth sides BTB and Northside United prior to joining Cavalry’s pathway in 2025. Most recently, Hyatt has been developing within the Cavalry FC Academy since 2025, playing under head coach Francesco Bartolillo.
“We’re thrilled for Micah to earn this opportunity,” said Francesco Bartolillo, Head of Youth Development, Cavalry FC. “He has been with our academy for over a year and was one of our first out-of-city players to join the full-time program. Micah is a great example of a player who has continued to put his head down and work through every obstacle and adversity he has faced. His persistence and grit, paired with his talent and mentality, have earned him this opportunity.”
Hyatt is eligible to make four appearances for Cavalry under a Development Contract, while maintaining his amateur status and the ability to train with the amateur team that holds his registration. Hyatt is eligible to sign two development contracts in a single CPL season.
Cavalry FC will host FC Supra du Québec at ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m. MT.
