How to watch Canadian Premier League action, and what to watch for, this matchweek.

It's rivalry week in the Canadian Premier League as two fierce inter-provincial fixtures kick off for the first time in 2026.

On Friday, Inter Toronto host Atlético Ottawa at York Lions Stadium, while the matchweek concludes with a Salish Sea Derby in the BC capital on Sunday.

Here's what you need to know ahead of Matchweek 5:

Friday, May 1 - Inter Toronto vs. Atlético Ottawa

7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT — York Lions Stadium — OneSoccer
Tickets available here.

After six fierce meetings in all competitions and a new CPL foul record set last season, Inter Toronto and Atlético Ottawa renew their rivalry under the lights at York Lions Stadium on Friday.

They will be particularly bright on Toronto midfielder Ollie Bassett. The former Atleti player won the league's 2022 Player of the Year award while playing for the Ottawa club between the 2022 and 2024 seasons. Now, he faces them for the first time as a member of their bitter rivals.

Atleti are unbeaten in the past seven between these two sides, dating back to a win on penalties in the 2024 playoffs. But this is another significant chance for Inter Toronto to show this year's team is different, especially at home.

Saturday, May 2 - Halifax Wanderers vs. Forge FC

2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT — Wanderers Grounds — OneSoccer, CBC Gem
Tickets available here.

After a 1-0 win over Pacific on Vancouver Island this past weekend, league leaders Forge FC head across the country to take on the Wanderers in Halifax.

The Wanderers Grounds has been a difficult away date for the Hamilton Club in recent years, as they have won there just once in the past three seasons. Halifax, meanwhile, are looking for their first win at home under Vanni Sartini.

Halifax also look to become the first CPL club to score on Forge in 2026, as the Hammers have kept clean sheets through their first four matches of the CPL season.

With the two sides meeting again next weekend in the TELUS Canadian Championship in Hamilton, it sets up a fascinating early-season home-and-away test for both clubs.

Sunday, May 3 - FC Supra du Québec vs. Cavalry FC

3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT — Stade Boréale — OneSoccer, RDS Direct
Tickets available here.

Fresh off their first-ever home victory this past weekend against the Halifax Wanderers, FC Supra du Québec heads across the Prairies River to Laval to host Cavalry in their first match at their permanent home venue, Stade Boréale in Laval, Que.

It will be a solid test for Supra's electric attack so far in 2026, who have a stunning 59 shot attempts in just three matches. However, only Forge have allowed fewer expected goals than Cavalry (3.78) so far this season, and they boast a dominant group including Daan Klomp, Amer Didić and goalkeeper Nate Ingham.

After back-to-back draws Cavalry will be keen to return to winning ways and keep pace with Forge at the top of the table. FC Supra, meanwhile, look to make another early statement by beating one of the league's best and hopping them in the table.

Sunday, May 3 - Pacific FC vs. Vancouver FC

7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT — Royal Athletic Park — OneSoccer, TSN
Tickets available here.

The Salish Sea Derby returns in 2026 with a clash in the BC capital between Vancouver FC and Pacific.

Adding to the intrigue are the vital three points of the line of each. The only two winless clubs in the CPL through the first four rounds, it is a big chance for one of these two sides to change that.

Vancouver came painfully close to three points this past weekend in the nation's capital, but a stoppage-time Emiliano García equalizer saw their clash with the CPL champs end in a draw. Pacific, meanwhile, are still looking for their first win at Royal Athletic Park after a 1-0 loss to Forge at the stadium this past weekend.

Player to Watch:

Ali Musse, Cavalry FC

After playing limited minutes through the first three weeks of the season, Musse started this past Saturday and instantly reminded everyone why he is one of the league's best. In a 1-1 draw with Inter Toronto, he assisted on his side's goal with a pinpoint cross to the head of Daan Klomp, one of seven chances he created during the match. After a career-best 2025 statistically, with nine goals and seven assists, Musse will look to dominate again in 2026. That continues on Sunday as Cavalry FC travel to Québec to take on FC Supra for the first time.
