How to watch Canadian Premier League action, and what to watch for, this matchweek.

The eighth and final home opener of the 2026 CPL season takes place this weekend, and it's a special one.

For the first time since the 'icicle kick' and lifting the North Star Cup on the snow-covered turf, Atlético Ottawa are back at TD Place, where they host Vancouver FC on Sunday.

That, plus a playoff rematch between Cavalry and Inter Toronto, headlines another full slate of CPL action this weekend.

Here's what you need to know ahead of Matchweek 4:

Friday, April 24 - FC Supra du Québec vs. Halifax Wanderers

7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT — CEPSUM Stadium — OneSoccer
Tickets available here.

After a historic and unforgettable sold-out home opener, FC Supra du Québec are back at CEPSUM Stadium on Friday as they host the Halifax Wanderers for the first time.

Given recent history, this is the kind of match you won't want to leave early. FC Supra won their inaugural match with a 90+7-minute Alex Marcoux winner away at Pacific, before losing to Atlético Ottawa in their home opener on a 90+3-minute goal. Halifax suffered a similar fate, conceding a 90+8-minute equalizer against Pacific. The week prior it was they who equalized in the 86th minute to earn a draw at York Lions Stadium.

So expect drama until the final whistle as FC Supra search for their first-ever home victory.

Saturday, April 25 - Cavalry FC vs. Inter Toronto

5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT — ATCO Field — OneSoccer, CBC Gem
Tickets available here.

The last time Inter Toronto were in Calgary, it spelled the end of their 2025 season, as they fell 4-1 in the semi-final qualifier at ATCO Field.

They return in 2026 with a reinvigorated roster, aiming to be the first team to defeat current league-leaders Cavalry this year.

Inter Toronto are the only club to defeat Cavalry at ATCO Field in each of the past two seasons. They look to make it three straight years with a win at one of the CPL's toughest road venues.

Sunday, April 26 - Atlético Ottawa vs. Vancouver FC

1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT — TD Place — OneSoccer, TSN
Tickets available here.

It's a special homecoming for the CPL champs on Sunday, as for the first time since they defeated Cavalry 2-1 in extra time in the 'icicle kick' 2025 CPL Final, Atlético Ottawa are back at TD Place.

After playing in the home openers for three other clubs, including a dramatic 1-0 stoppage time win over FC Supra this past Sunday, Atleti will finally be welcomed home by their own fans. Atleti became the first CPL club to go undefeated in a calendar year at home in 2025, and will be looking to build a similar fortress at TD Place starting Sunday.

While they didn't score in either of the past two trips to the nation's capital, Vancouver did pick up impactful results in both. A 1-0 loss on September 18 in the TELUS Canadian Championship saw them advance to the tournament final on aggregate. A 0-0 draw on October 12, meanwhile, cost Atleti a vital two points in their 2025 CPL Shield race.

Sunday, April 26 - Pacific FC vs. Forge FC

6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT — Royal Athletic Park — OneSoccer
Tickets available here.

The CPL Matchweek concludes in the BC capital, where Pacific FC host Forge FC at Royal Athletic Park in downtown Victoria.

The Tridents rescued their first point of the season in Halifax this past week on a stunning second-half stoppage-time equalizer from new striker Bul Juach.

The defending regular season winners, Forge are unbeaten through the first three weeks of the CPL season, and have yet to concede a goal through 270 minutes so far this campaign.

Player to Watch:

Manny Aparicio, Atlético Ottawa

As the CPL Champions return home, a new man will pull on the captain's armband. Following the departure of Nate Ingham and Alberto Zapater, the 30-year-old will now be looked upon as the leader in the nation's capital. One of the CPL's best players since its inception, the midfield maestro will be crucial to setting the club's tempo and standard this season. It hasn't been the greatest of starts to the year for Atléti, who finally scored their first goal and picked up their first win against Supra on Sunday. But some home cooking gives them a strong chance to get back on track, and Aparicio the platform for a big performance.
