One of the biggest weekends of the 2026 Canadian Premier League season lies ahead.
On Saturday, for the final time in the regular season, Cavalry FC and Forge FC meet for a clash in Calgary which could determine who lifts the CPL Shield.
Elsewhere, the playoff race heats up, as those currently below the line will have a keen eye on Saturday's Salish Sea Derby, while trying to take care of business themselves.

Saturday, Sept. 19 - Cavalry FC vs. Forge FC

It could all come down to this.
For the past 21 matchweeks Forge FC and Cavalry FC have traded blows, largely from afar, in the battle for the CPL Shield. Saturday is the final opportunity they have to deal direct damage to the other.
Cavalry come into the match in the driver's seat with a four-point lead in the table. They will remain in the top spot regardless of the result, but increasing that to seven points could all but wrap up a regular season title.
But Forge know that if they can cut that gap to just a single point, the race is truly on. With no regular season wins in Calgary since 2022, this would be a vital time to end that streak.

The final edition of the Salish Sea Derby in 2026 kicks off at Starlight Stadium on Saturday and promises significant fireworks.
Vancouver need three points in their fight to secure a first-ever playoff appearance. Pacific FC would love to play spoiler against their provincial rivals. The Eagles have owned the Derby so far this season. Winning the final one would be a huge sign of progress for the Tridents.
Pacific also need to win in order to keep their mathematical playoff hopes alive. They won't want to allow their provincial rivals to drive home the final nail in their season.
Sunday, Sept. 20 - Atlético Ottawa vs. FC Supra du Québec

After heartbreak in the Canadian Championship, FC Supra du Québec visit the nation's capital looking to begin their last stand in the CPL Playoff race.
Eight points out with seven matches remaining, it would require a miraculous run. A first-ever CPL win over rivals Atlético Ottawa would be a great place to start.
Three times they have met this season in the league. Three times FC Supra have led. All three times Atlético Ottawa came back to win.
Win, and the defending CPL champions would take one big step closer to locking up their return to the postseason.
Sunday, Sept. 20 - Halifax Wanderers vs. Inter Toronto

After both picked up big wins this past week, the Wanderers and Inter Toronto meet in Halifax on Sunday in a huge match for their playoff hopes.
Both sit seven points out of the fourth and final playoff spot. One of them could reduce that gap to four.
With four of their final six matches of the season coming at home, the Wanderers need to take care of business at the Wanderers Grounds if they want any hope of a playoff push.
Inter Toronto, meanwhile, search for their first away victory since May. That is also the last time they won back-to-back matches.

Thierno Bah, Vancouver FC
With goals in back-to-back matches, Bah is heating up at an important time for Vancouver FC's season as they look to secure a first-ever playoff appearance. On Saturday, they head to Vancouver Island for the first Salish Sea Derby of 2026 against Pacific FC. With just one win in their past six, it's a huge opportunity for Vancouver to get back on track. A big match from Bah would go a long way toward making that happen.
