Where to watch, and what to watch for, this matchweek across the Canadian Premier League

A historic weekend awaits in the Canadian Premier League.

On Saturday, FC Supra du Québec play the inaugural match in club history as they travel to Starlight Stadium to take on Pacific FC.

Earlier in the day, it's a new dawn for Inter Toronto, who host Halifax Wanderers in their 2026 home opener wearing new colours and sporting a new name. Sunday, meanwhile, features a rematch of the 2025 CPL Final between Cavalry FC and Atlético Ottawa.

Here are all the key details ahead of this weekend:

Saturday, April 11 - Inter Toronto vs. Halifax Wanderers

3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT -- York Lions Stadium -- OneSoccer // Tickets available here.

The hype is real as Inter Toronto kicks off its 2026 season on Saturday afternoon at York Lions Stadium against the Halifax Wanderers.

It begins an ambitious new chapter for the club, one reflected in their new name and identity, as well as an off-season full of splashy signings. Béni Badibanga and Ollie Bassett make their return to the league, joined by Mexican international Raùl López.

After a 1-0 win at Willoughby Stadium this past week, courtesy of an incredible debut clean sheet from Marco Carducci and a Lorenzo Callegari screamer, Halifax are looking to win back-to-back games to start a season for the first time.

Saturday, April 11 - Pacific FC vs. FC Supra du Québec

6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT -- Starlight Stadium -- OneSoccer, CBC Gem, RDS Direct // Tickets available here.

April 11, 2026, will be a day for Québec's soccer history books as a club from the province plays a match in the CPL for the first time.

As FC Supra du Québec makes its debut at Starlight Stadium, all eyes will be on them to make a positive first impression. Who will score the club's inaugural goal and can they hit the ground running with what would be a huge result to begin their history?

Pacific won't be very gracious hosts following a home loss to Cavalry this past weekend. They will be desperate not to drop two straight results at Starlight Stadium to begin the season.

Sunday, April 12 - Cavalry FC vs. Atlético Ottawa

4 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. MT -- ATCO Field -- OneSoccer, TSN5 // Tickets available here.

It's time for the rematch.

Four months since the unforgettable 2025 CPL Final in the snow at TD Place, Cavalry FC and Atlético Ottawa meet, this time at ATCO Field. Guess what the forecast is calling for in Calgary.

The storylines are plentiful. It's the first time Nate Ingham and Amer Didić will face their former club, and an early chance for Cavalry to shift the story after this year, after going winless in five against Ottawa last season.

Atleti will be looking for a big response following a season opener where they were shut out, and held without a shot, by Forge FC.

Sunday, April 12 - Vancouver FC vs. Forge FC

7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT -- Willoughby Stadium -- OneSoccer // Tickets available here.

Rounding out matchweek two, last year's CPL Shield winners Forge FC travel to Langley to take on Vancouver FC, who finished bottom of the table in 2025.

For the Eagles, it is the perfect opportunity to prove that this year's team is different. They were perhaps unlucky not to get more out of a strong opening day performance against Halifax, and will be motivated to put in a similar shift, with a different outcome, on Sunday.

Forge are riding high after shutting out CPL champs Atlético Ottawa in week one, and are searching for a sixth straight victory in Langley.

Player to Watch:

Ollie Bassett, Inter Toronto

A former Canadian Premier League Player of the Year, and champion, makes his return to action in the league this weekend -- in a new city, and wearing new colours. After winning a CPL title with Pacific in 2021, Bassett played three seasons with Atlético Ottawa between 2022-24. He won the league's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year in 2022, helping Atleti to a CPL Shield and CPL Final appearance, before winning the Golden Boot in 2023. Now in a new chapter with Inter Toronto, he is looking to prove he can once again be among the CPL's top players.
