A full weekend of Canadian Premier League action kicks off Saturday with four matches from coast-to-coast, beginning in the nation's capital.
Atlético Ottawa-Cavalry and Vancouver FC-Inter Toronto are part of a super soccer Saturday in Canada following the men's national team's historic Round of 16 clash with Morocco earlier in the day.
Three clubs return to action for the first time since the World Cup kicked off: FC Supra du Québec, Inter Toronto and Cavalry FC. Here is everything you need to know:
Saturday, July 4 - Atlético Ottawa vs. Cavalry FC
4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT — TD Place — OneSoccer, CBC Gem
Tickets available here.
Atlético Ottawa look to make it three straight wins for the first time this season when they host Cavalry FC at TD Place on Saturday.
It is a true rematch of the famous 2025 CPL Final, as Nate Ingham and Amer Didić are back in the nation's capital for the first time since joining Cavalry FC.
For Cavalry, it is their return to action following the World Cup break, after their home match against FC Supra on Sunday had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. They could also make it three straight wins with a victory on Saturday, making this a matchup of two of the league's hottest teams.
Win this match, and Atlético Ottawa could close the gap between the two sides to just three points in the table. Cavarly, meanwhile, are chasing Forge FC at the top, now five points behind -- albeit with a game in hand.
Saturday, July 4 - Vancouver FC vs. Inter Toronto
7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT — Langley Events Centre — OneSoccer
Tickets available here.
Following a tough loss in Hamilton, where they led 2-0 at the half, Vancouver FC are back in Langley, where they are unbeaten in three matches.
They face a tough and well-rested Inter Toronto side who are looking to continue a dominant record over the Eagles. In 14 all-time meetings, Inter Toronto have gone 10-2-2. For Toronto, the World Cup break came at a great time as they went into it winless in four and outscored 12-3 in their past three matches.
Toronto won the first meeting between these two sides at home 1-0 on a goal by former Eagle Gabriel Bitar. This is another match with significant implications in the table, as just one point separates Inter Toronto and Vancouver in the logjam between fourth and seventh.
Sunday, July 5 - FC Supra du Québec vs. Forge FC
1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT — Stade Boréale — OneSoccer, TSN, TVAS2
Tickets available here.
For the first time in a month, FC Supra du Québec return home, where they host league-leaders Forge FC at Stade Boréale.
Supra search for their first win against the Hamilton club, losing 1-0 on a goal by Dan Nimick in their only meeting so far during Forge's School Day match on May 13.
Forge are winners of four straight, after coming from behind 2-0 down to beat Vancouver FC on Canada Day in Hamilton. Supra, meanwhile, were on the other end of a two-goal comeback in their most recent outing as they lost 5-3 to Atlético Ottawa in the nation's capital back on June 9.
Sunday, July 5 - Pacific FC vs. Halifax Wanderers
6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT - Starlight Stadium — OneSoccer
Tickets available here.
For the second time in a week, Pacific FC and Halifax go head-to-head, this time on the West Coast.
Halifax were the victor in their most recent meeting this past Friday in Halifax, scoring three late goals in a 5-2 victory. They now search for their first away win since the opening weekend of the season.
The match is expected to be the start of the Terry Dunfield era, as Pacific's new head coach steps on the touchline for the first time.
He has his work cut out for him, however, as Pacific remain winless with a league-high 25 goals allowed this season -- shipping five more in Halifax this past Friday.
Player to Watch:
Ballou Tabla, Atlético Ottawa
The architect of Atlético Ottawa's recent rise has undoubtedly been Ballou Tabla. The 27-year-old attacker had a brace, and an assist, in a 3-1 win over the Halifax Wanderers on Canada Day. He now has five goals and two assists in his past five league matches for Atlético Ottawa, and eight goals in his past seven in all competitions. Taking on Cavalry this weekend, Tabla has traditionally done some of his best work against the Calgary club, with five goals and two assists in 14 matches.
