A strong month of September has left Cavalry FC chasing not only the CPL Shield, but several league records as well.
After his club went 3-1-1, head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. has been named the CPL's Manager of the Month.
Cavalry picked up wins against Halifax and Pacific on the road, and an incredible 6-0 win over FC Supra at home. They also drew rival Forge FC 1-1 at home, an important result in maintaining their lead in the standings over the Hamilton club. Their lone loss of the month came in Ottawa.
Among the records Cavalry are approaching, the 13 goals they scored in September have them just four back from surpassing the best single-season tally in league history, 54 set by Atlético Ottawa last season.
This is the second month this season where Tommy Wheeldon Jr. has been named the CPL's Manager of the Month, also taking home the honour in May.
