Pacific FC players Fin Tugwell (UVic Vikes) and Eric Lajeunesse (UBC Thunderbirds) will both be competing in the national championship, representing their respective university programs on home soil.
There's some championship pedigree in the Trident ranks, too. Lajeunesse and the UBC Thunderbirds captured the U SPORTS national championship in 2024, and they'll be looking to add another title to their trophy case this year.
And he's not the only Trident with a national championship on his résumé. Max Piepgrass won the U SPORTS national championship in 2023 with Cape Breton University, where he spent four seasons before joining Pacific FC. While he won't be representing Cape Breton in this year's tournament, his championship connection adds another layer to Pacific FC's ties to the competition.
With Fin representing the host Vikes and Eric looking to help UBC reclaim the national title, there's plenty of reason for PFC fans to get out and support some familiar faces.
The UVic Vikes are offering Pacific FC fans 50% off all-day passes to the tournament with promo code: NATIONALCLUBS50
The discount applies to Adult, Youth and Senior/Alumni all-day passes.
