After hosting a Halifax Wanderers vs. Inter Toronto match in 2025, Telus Stadium at Laval University in Quebec City will rediscover the joys of professional soccer with the arrival of FC Supra du Québec and Pacific FC.

The good news is that it should be quite an entertaining spectacle.

Supra, currently 5th in the standings with 10 points, is well underway in the battle for the playoffs, which will feature the league's top four teams. Trailing 4th-place Atlético Ottawa by one point and 3rd-place Inter Toronto by two points—but with a game in hand—Supra is in a favourable position that they will seek to strengthen against a struggling Pacific FC squad.

"Several of us have already played in this stadium with college and university teams, so for many of us, it will be familiar territory," said FC Supra head coach Nick Razzaghi. "We're going to get out there, we'll feel the city, we'll feel the supporters, and we'll feel that we're in Quebec. I can't wait to have a large crowd at the match, and I'm looking forward to playing in front of them."

For Pacific FC, the situation is delicate. Sitting dead last in the standings with a record of 6 losses and 2 draws, the Vancouver Island team has endured a turbulent few weeks following the dismissal of head coach James Merriman and the hiring of his successor, Terry Dunfield.

Still at the bottom of the table, Pacific FC has yet to taste victory in 2026. They are the only team in the league in this predicament. The club has also consistently conceded at least one goal in every match. Their defence is particularly problematic: with 17 goals allowed in 8 matches, it is the worst in the league.

After four consecutive Canadian Premier League losses and another defeat in the Canadian Championship, Pacific FC finally stopped the bleeding by securing a draw against Atlético Ottawa. However, this silver lining must be kept in perspective given how the match unfolded. The Tridents were leading 2-0, only to be caught at the very end of stoppage time by a penalty converted by Ballou Tabla.

Nevertheless, this team should not be underestimated. After a rather quiet start to the season, Ronan Kratt has once again become an influential player in the league, highlighted by a goal and an assist in his last outing. This performance earned him Player of the Week honours.

Furthermore, FC Supra is certainly not devoid of talent either. Sean Rea, Diyaeddine Abzi, David Choinière, and Safwane Mlah also earned Team of the Week honours in the last round following a successful performance against Inter Toronto.

Supra, who returned to winning ways against Toronto after a month without a league victory, can also rejoice at the goal scored by Loïc Kwemi on the last matchday. After struggling in recent games, the Quebecois forward should regain some confidence from this finish and will try to build on that success against Pacific—the very team against whom he scored the first professional goal of his career.

News & Notes:

  • FC Supra's Oussama Boughanmi is suspended after receiving a red card against Inter Toronto. Alessandro Biello is also suspended, with this being the last of his four-game suspension.
  • Joshua Belluz is suspended for Pacific FC after being sent off against Ottawa.

Key Quotes

"Pacific FC is a team that plays good football, even if the results might not tell the whole story. Their attackers are dangerous. Bustos, Toualy, Kratt, and Diaz are all very good. Daniels is also a highly talented player who has a lot to offer. They will come here with all the desire in the world to beat us. I'm expecting a very aggressive team that will come after us and come to win." - Nick Razzaghi, FC Supra head coach
