A new week brings a new challenge for FC Supra, as they host Inter Toronto on Friday night.

After facing the league’s last three champions — Atlético Ottawa, Cavalry FC, and Forge FC — and embarking on one of their furthest road trips of the season to take on Vancouver FC, FC Supra now welcome one of the most in-form teams in the league.

Alongside Cavalry, Inter Toronto is the last remaining undefeated team in the 2026 campaign. Currently sitting third in the standings with 12 points, Inter Toronto boasts all the hallmarks of a highly confident squad: they have scored 10 goals, ranking them as the league's second-best attack, and have conceded just 5, making them the third-most solid defense.

Individually, they also present a formidable threat, spearheaded by star striker Julian Altobelli. Following an impressive 2025 season where he netted 15 goals across all competitions, Altobelli is starting this year on a high note, already finding the back of the net 4 times in just 6 CPL matches.

Inter Toronto’s ambitions this year are further highlighted by the depth of their roster. Players like Ollie Bassett — the 2022 Player of the Year and 2023 Golden Boot winner — joined ahead of the season but are primarily being used as substitutes. Béni Badibanga, a 2025 champion with Forge FC, and Gabriel Bitar, a seasoned CPL veteran, have suffered a similar fate for now, having to settle for brief appearances off the bench.

For Supra, this is a golden opportunity to make a statement by overcoming a genuine playoff contender. Sitting on 7 points after six matchdays, Nick Razzaghi’s men see this game as a crucial chance to avoid falling behind the frontrunners and to return to winning ways. Supra hasn't won a league game in over a month (since a 2-1 victory over Halifax on April 24), enduring a run of two losses and a draw, which was only interrupted by a 3-1 Canadian Championship victory against amateur side Woodbridge.

To achieve this, keeping a clean sheet would be ideal. So far, the Montreal-based club has been unable to do so, conceding at least one goal in every single match.

Offensively, they will also need to show greater clinical efficiency. FC Supra currently has the second-worst attack in the league, with only 6 goals scored. Their leading goalscorer is center-back Matisse Chrétien with 2 goals, a statistic that underscores the recent struggles of their forwards. Out of the 15 shots he has taken this season, Loïc Kwemi has hit the target just 5 times and scored only a single goal—which came all the way back on matchday one against Pacific FC. Neither Alexandre Marcoux nor Ibrahima Condé has managed to capitalize on Kwemi’s injury and lack of efficiency to secure goals and cement a starting spot.

It would be unfair to lay all the blame on FC Supra’s attackers, as they have played their part in the club's otherwise encouraging start to the season, but a return to form would be highly welcome—ideally starting this Friday night.

News & Notes:

  • Alessandro Biello remains suspended following his red card against Cavalry. He will have one more match to serve after Friday's game against Toronto.
  • Shola Jimoh is absent for Inter Toronto, as he competes at the Maurice Revello Tournament with the Canadian U-20 national team.

Key Quotes

"It's going to be an interesting match: Montreal vs. Toronto; Quebec vs. Ontario. Toronto is a great, very well-rounded team with strong players and good goalscorers up front. They are undefeated. It will be a great match between two teams who want to win and who take pride in representing their province." - FC Supra head coach Nick Razzaghi

"We haven't been getting the results we know we're capable of as a team. Our only real issue is in the attacking phase—finding a way to score one, two, or three goals a game. Once things 'click,' we'll be able to move forward." - FC Supra defender Charles Auguste
