For Power Tractor, being part of the Langley community has always meant being close to the people who live, work and build here. Now that connection is extending to the soccer pitch in partnership with Vancouver FC.

The Langley-based equipment dealer is joining the Vancouver FC family in a partnership focused on a strong connection to the local community. In fact, Power Tractor’s customers typically range from property owners and landscapers to hobby farmers and those are many of the same people filling the stands on Vancouver FC matchdays.

For
us,
this
partnership
just
makes
sense.
What
we
really
like
is
the
opportunity
to
take
it
beyond
traditional
sponsorship
and
actually
do
something
within
the
community
recognizing
grassroots
teams,
helping
out
neighbours
who
could
use
a
hand,
and
putting
our
equipment
to
work
where
it
can
make
a
difference.
Power
Tractor
is
proud
to
be
part
of
what
Vancouver
FC
is
building
here
in
Langley
and
to
support
the
community
that
supports
both
of
us.
Melanie Hastings, General Manager, Power Tractor

In keeping with this focus on community as part of the partnership, Vancouver FC and Power Tractor will recognize a Grassroots Team of the Match at each regular season home game, giving young local players a chance to be celebrated on the same stage as the professionals they come to watch. Each team will be recognized in-stadium and have its moment captured on the grassy knoll at the North end of the stadium, connecting the next generation of players with the club in their own backyard.

That same focus on community will carry beyond matchday through another activation layer to the partnership called “Nominate a Neighbour in Need.” This initiative will see Power Tractor and Vancouver FC work together to give a local pitch, garden or hobby farm a professional-grade refresh, putting equipment and labour toward a place that would benefit from some extra support.

Vancouver
FC
is
excited
to
partner
with
Power
Tractor.
With
activations
such
as
recognizing
a
Grassroots
Team
of
each
match
and
a
program
to
nominate
neighbours
in
need,
it
is
clear
this
partnership
is
focused
on
building
community.
And
contributing
to
the
health
of
community
in
collaboration
with
committed
partners
is
at
the
heart
of
our
club’s
mission.
Bill Cooper, Chief Commercial Officer, Vancouver Football Club

Finally, Power Tractor will also provide a KIOTI K9 unit for shared use by Vancouver FC and Langley United Soccer Association, supporting the work that happens behind the scenes to keep local soccer moving.

Vancouver FC is building its place in Langley and within the local soccer community one season at a time, while Power Tractor has long served the people who quite literally help build and maintain the community the club plays in.

From the grassroots teams to neighbourhood projects, Power Tractor’s partnership with Vancouver FC is about putting down roots, helping the game grow from the ground up, and continuing to build community along the way.
