Pacific FC of the Canadian Premier League today announced Rob Jenkins as the club’s new Managing Director, effective immediately.
Jenkins brings more than 25 years of business experience to Pacific, including launching, operating and consulting for some of Canada’s highest profile professional and pro-am clubs, including Pacific’s CPL counterpart Cavalry FC, former League1 Ontario side Electric City FC out of Peterborough, Ont. and The Borough FC of the Ontario Premier League, out of Scarborough, Ont.
“Pacific FC is at a pivotal moment, with an opportunity to build on what’s been established and take the club into its next chapter,” said Dean Shillington, Managing Partner of SixFive Sports & Entertainment Inc. and Co-owner of Pacific FC. “We’re building something special here, and that takes ambition, discipline and a shared commitment to the club’s future. Rob brings the leadership and experience to help make that happen. I look forward to what lies ahead and to seeing what next season brings for the club and our community.”
In addition to working in sports, Jenkins held executive roles in a variety of industries throughout Western Canada, including working directly with, and for, multiple Indigenous organizations and communities.
Jenkins moved to Vancouver Island with his wife in 2025.
“Since first stepping on the Island back in 2019 as a member of Cavalry FC I fell in love with the community and the club immediately and knew that Vancouver Island and Pacific FC was where I wanted to be,” said Rob Jenkins, Managing Director, Pacific FC.
“Ever since that day, I’ve kept one eye on this project and in communication with ownership, knowing that it is where I wanted to be. I’ve been following the club closely and getting to know the community since I moved to the Island, waiting for this opportunity. I believe Pacific has potential to be something amazing for the Island and to stand out across the country as a leader both on and off the pitch. I can’t wait to show the people of Vancouver Island what I’ve seen since day one. It’s been a long journey, but I’m thrilled to finally be here.”
Jenkins spent many years volunteering in soccer before getting involved in the sport in an official capacity in 2015 when he managed the launch of pro-am side Calgary Foothills FC, which played in the Premier Development League (USL2) and was crowned PDL Champion in 2018.
He moved into the professional game ahead of the launch of the CPL, serving as Manager of Football Operations for Tommy Wheeldon Jr. at Cavalry FC in Calgary, Alta. from 2018 to 2020. Jenkins helped set the club’s foundation and build it through its first CPL seasons.
In 2020, Jenkins began an ambitious project in Peterborough, Ont., and, in 2022, launched League1 Ontario pro-am club Electric City FC, which competed in both men’s and women’s division. Under Jenkins’ leadership as club president, Electric City was one of the first professional women’s clubs in Canada to pay female players and attracted former professional players to the project, including CPL alums like Jordan Brown and Quillen Roberts, and USL Championship player Zach Ellis Hayden. It was at Electric City that Jenkins identified and signed Pacific FC goalkeeper Eleias Himaras, who went on to earn his first professional contract with York United FC during his time with Electric City.
Jenkins has advised clubs across North America since founding his consulting firm, Ronic Sports Management, in 2017. His consultancy work includes advising professional, pro-am, and youth soccer clubs, building clubs from scratch, supporting partnership management, running soccer events, and club management education, including the launch of current Ontario Premier League (OPL) side The Borough FC.
Jenkins also previously worked with Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team’s match operations team in 2020.
Jenkins graduated from University of Saskatchewan with a business degree in Operations Management and attended the MBA program in sports management from Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea, the university program linked to Real Madrid C.F. He has added to his education with continual professional training at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, the University of Notre Dame, and MacEwan University.
Jenkins replaces Ross Marshall, who served in the role since April 2025. Marshall, a minority owner in the club, will continue to be involved with the club at an ownership level and continues as Senior Vice President of CBRE Limited in Victoria, where he co-leads the Investment Properties Group.
