Langley United Soccer Association has reached another milestone in its storied history, capturing consecutive British Columbia Premier League championships and further cementing its place among the province’s top soccer programs.

The back-to-back titles are a reflection of the consistency, competitive standard and player-development pathway that have been built within LUSA over many years. Behind the accomplishment is the collective work of the club’s players, coaches, staff, volunteers and supporters, all contributing to the continued growth of one of British Columbia’s leading soccer organizations.

This championship carries even greater significance as LUSA celebrates 100 years of grassroots soccer in Langley.  For a century, the organization has provided local players with opportunities to learn, compete and develop through the game, creating a lasting foundation that continues to strengthen soccer throughout the community.

To recognize that legacy, Vancouver FC is celebrating the LUSA’s centennial throughout the 2026 Canadian Premier League season by wearing a commemorative LUSA patch on the club’s shorts, honouring the organization’s longstanding contribution to soccer in Langley.

The connection between the two clubs was also reflected on the field, with several Vancouver FC players contributing to LUSA’s championship-winning campaign. Matheus de Souza, Marsel Bibishkov, Thomas Powell, Abdoulaye Ouattara, Henrik Regitnig, Vitor Lucas, Lys Mousset and Tyler Crawford gained valuable competitive minutes while helping LUSA secure another title.

Past and present players from Vancouver FC’s U-19 program also played an important role throughout the season, with Lucas Friend, Cassius Fenrich, Sukhman Gill, Markus Blount, Razik Walji, Tyler Marsden, Finn Riable, Jordan Riascos, Axl De Vries, Tristan Otuomagie, Joey Buchanan and Michael Ajagbe contributing to the championship run.

At the helm was VFC staff coach Azad Palani, who has now guided Langley United to consecutive BC Premier League championships. Palani also plays an integral leadership role within the Vancouver FC U-19 Academy, further strengthening the connection between the two organizations and the player-development pathway they continue to build together.

The collaboration between LUSA and Vancouver FC highlights the strong soccer ecosystem being built in Langley, creating meaningful development opportunities for players at all levels and strengthening the pathway from grassroots soccer to the professional game.

More than just another trophy, LUSA’s back-to-back championships represent the culture, commitment and community that have been built over the past century. The achievement reinforces Langley United’s role as a leader in player development and a key contributor to the continued growth of soccer across the Fraser Valley.

Congratulations to LUSA’s players, coaches, staff, volunteers and supporters on an outstanding and historic back-to-back championship achievement.
