TORONTO - Inter Toronto Football Club confirms that defender Aksel Bhattacharjee will join Inter Toronto IV as part of the club’s Pathway for the 2026 Ontario Premier League season.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Bhattacharjee is a Canadian full-back who also carries Indian, Chinese, Irish, and Norwegian cultural backgrounds. Primarily operating on the left side, the 5’11” defender is recognized for his pace, field awareness, and ability to push forward while maintaining composure in possession.
Before joining Inter Toronto, Bhattacharjee developed through SC Toronto and Power FC Academy, where he won the iModel C1 Trophy along with multiple other titles, including the Umbro Cup. Outside of football, he has also competed in track and field, placing seventh in the city in the 100m dash, highlighting the athleticism and speed that complement his game.
Bhattacharjee attended the club’s open tryouts in 2025 before eventually earning his place within the Pathway. During the process, he transitioned from winger to left-back following feedback from the coaching staff, a move that helped unlock another dimension of his game.
“I chose Inter Toronto because it is a professional pathway and a great place for me to develop as a player,” said Bhattacharjee.
“The competition and other high-level players and coaches help me continue to work hard and never slack off. I also see how many opportunities others have received based on merit.”
Bhattacharjee also credited the club environment for helping him continue developing his communication and understanding of the left-back position while adapting to the demands of a professional pathway environment.
As part of Inter Toronto IV, he will continue progressing within the club’s development structure while pursuing opportunities to move further up the Pathway.
