TORONTO, ON – Inter Toronto Football Club announced today that 18-year-old Canadian winger Ty Clarke has signed a multi-year professional contract with the club, becoming the latest graduate of the Inter Toronto Pathway to earn a long-term place in the First Team. The agreement guarantees Clarke through the 2028 Canadian Premier League season, and includes club options for 2029 and 2030.
Born in Toronto, Ont., Clarke is an attacking player with Vincentian heritage. Primarily a left winger, he can also operate in midfield and across multiple attacking positions. His dribbling ability, creativity and direct style of play have allowed him to make an impact throughout his progression with the club.
Clarke spent part of his childhood in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, where he began playing football with System 3 Academy. After moving to Canada, he joined the Toronto FC Academy for two seasons. Clarke progressed to Toronto FC’s U-18 team and also earned opportunities to train with Toronto FC II during the 2024-25 season.
His development has also included significant international experience with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the U-17, U-20 and senior levels. Clarke competed in the Concacaf U-17 World Cup qualifiers before representing the country in U-20 Concacaf qualifying, where he scored twice in three appearances. His performances at the U-20 level led to an opportunity with the senior national team.
After returning to Inter Toronto from international duty, Clarke continued to impress with Inter Toronto II and began training regularly with the First Team. His performances and commitment earned him a Canadian Premier League Development Contract in July before he went on to make his First Team debut.
Clarke’s continued progression has now earned him a multi-year professional agreement and a long-term opportunity to establish himself within the First Team.
“Signing this contract means a lot to me because becoming a professional footballer is something I have worked toward since I was young,” Clarke said. “Playing for a team from Toronto, knowing that I’m from Toronto, makes it even more special. Making my debut for this club was a big achievement for me and something I’m very proud of.”
Representing Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has also played an important role in Clarke’s development, allowing him to test himself in Concacaf competition and experience senior international football at a young age.
“It means everything to represent Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” Clarke said. “It’s where my parents are from, where I grew up and where I spent many years playing. I know so many people there, so having the opportunity to go back and represent the country is very special to me.”
Now established within the professional environment, Clarke is focused on showing how he can contribute to the First Team.
“Now I’m thinking about how I can get into the team, how I can help and what I can bring,” Clarke said. “My goal is to keep working every day and, whenever I get an opportunity, make the most of it.”
For Clarke’s father, seeing his son sign a multi-year professional contract represents the realization of a goal the family has pursued together for many years.
“Ty has always wanted to become a professional footballer, and that was one of the reasons we moved to Canada,” he said. “Seeing him take this step is fulfilling because we know how much work has gone into it. Inter Toronto believes in young players and gives them the opportunity to prove themselves. Once the club recognizes talent, it provides a platform for that talent to speak on the field.”
Clarke becomes the latest graduate of the Inter Toronto Pathway to sign a multi-year professional contract with the club. His progression from Inter Toronto II to the First Team reinforces the club’s commitment to developing young players and providing a clear route toward professional football.
