Forge FC Head Coach and Sporting Director Bobby Smyrniotis became the first coach in Canadian Premier League history to reach 100 wins when Forge defeated Cavalry FC 1-0 on May 31 in Hamilton.

Now in his eighth season leading Forge, Smyrniotis has been at the helm since the club's inaugural campaign in 2019 and has helped establish Forge as one of the most successful clubs in Canadian soccer history.

Since taking charge of Forge ahead of the club's inaugural season in 2019, Smyrniotis has guided the club to four playoff championships, three regular season titles and appearances in every CPL Final from 2019 to 2024. Under his leadership, Forge has also represented Canada in continental competition on multiple occasions, including the Concacaf League, Concacaf Champions Cup and Concacaf Champions League.

Smyrniotis entered the 2026 season as the league's all-time leader in matches coached, wins and trophies won. His 100th CPL victory came courtesy of a 58th-minute header from Antoine Batisse, which secured a 1-0 victory over Cavalry FC and moved Forge back to the top of the league standings.

The milestone adds another achievement to a career that has helped shape both Forge FC and the Canadian Premier League since the league's launch in 2019.
