Atlético Ottawa's hometown hero saved the day again on Friday night.
In the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau scored his fifth goal in seven CPL matches to give Atleti a come-from-behind 2-1 victory.
The capital club now have gained a stunning 17 points from losing positions this season as they solidify their third-place spot in the table.
Atlético Ottawa named an unchanged eleven for the match, while Inter Toronto were without Tomasz Skublak through suspension and Julian Altobelli.
Despite missing their top two goalscorers, Inter Toronto wasted no time getting on the board.
In the fifth minute, an outstanding curled cross into the box from Luke Singh was headed off the post and in by Yeates.
It was the perfect start for Inter Toronto, who continued to add to Atlético Ottawa's first-half woes this season. The capital club have now conceded 19 first-half goals, the most in the CPL this season.
The visitors continued to lay on the pressure, with a number of early half-chances, including a penalty shout on which they used an FVS challenge in the 12th minute. After review, however, it was not awarded.
Atlético Ottawa started to dominate possession as the match went on, but struggled to get the ball forward into threatening positions or to their dangerous players. Star striker Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau had just eight touches in the opening 45 minutes. That was a big reason why his side went into the half down 1-0.
Atlético Ottawa had a great chance to equalize just a few minutes into the second half. Some great buildup saw Fleuriau Chateau play the ball into the path of Roni Mbomio at the back post, but he couldn't tap it in.
Just eight minutes later, they had another excellent opportunity as Kamron Habibullah hit the crossbar. Then in the 58th minute, the hosts did manage to put the ball into the net, but Ballou Tabla was ruled offside.
Their siege continued as in the 70th minute, Mbomio had another great look which was cleared off the line by an Inter Toronto defender.
Two minutes later, however, they finally found their goal and in an incredible fashion. Off a corner kick delivery from Gabriel Antinoro, Tabla skillfully flicked the ball before him and into the corner for a stunning goal -- and his ninth of the season.
But Atlético Ottawa weren't satisfied with just a single point, and when the fourth official showed nine minutes of stoppage time would be added to the second half, it only furthered their resolve.
In the eighth minute of that stoppage time period, Emiliano García clipped a ball over to talk to Mbomio, who cleverly crossed it into Fleuriau Chateu -- who headed home the matchwinner.
The goal was the tenth winner or equalizer that Atlético Ottawa have scored in the 85th minute or later this year already, as the capital club continues to be the league's comeback kings.
