Montreal turned out in droves for the CPL's newest club.

FC Supra du Québec played their first ever home match on Sunday against Atlético Ottawa at CEPSUM, and they did so in front of a special atmopshere.

An announced sellout attendance of 4,965 was in the building for Supra's inaugural home opener.

"It was amazing," Supra captain David Choinière told reporters postmatch. "We wanted to see a sold-out crowd, that's what we got. We're really happy; thanks to the fans who showed up for the game. We want to see them again for the next game, and next time, we'll get the three points."

Head coach Nick Razzaghi added more context, explaining that some individual faces in the crowd, many of them friends and family of the club's Quebecois players and staff, made it extra special.

"It means a bit more to us, because we know these people," Razzaghi said. "These are not just people buying tickets. Most of them, we can say, I know this guy, I've seen this guy, I've played against this guy, I've coached against this guy. You look in the crowd, you see a bunch of familiar faces, and you want to obviously make them proud."

Up next for FC Supra, the Canadian Premier League's first club in the province of Quebec, is a second home match, this Friday night against Halifax Wanderers FC.

More to come.
