FC Supra claimed a 3-1 victory against Inter Toronto in a match heavily shaped by unpredictable weather conditions.

FC Supra triumphed on home turf on Friday night against Inter Toronto, in a match that remained deadlocked for a long period, but whose dynamic fundamentally shifted after a lengthy delay caused by a violent thunderstorm.

In an erratic game, FC Supra proved superior to Inter Toronto in their ability to adapt to the circumstances.

"We managed the different phases of the match well," analyzed Nick Razzaghi, head coach of FC Supra. "We responded well after the interruption, and I am very happy with my players' attitude. Even after Toronto's goal, we managed to keep our composure. We are still a project under construction, and every week we try to add something new to our game. Some matches are less convincing, but if we can fight from start to finish in every game, I will be happy."

Winless for nearly a month following two losses and a draw, FC Supra quickly demonstrated their ambition to secure points against a top-form CPL team.

The Montreal side dominated possession and tested their luck multiple times in the first half, notably through efforts from Safwane Mlah, Loïc Kwemi, and Diyaeddine Abzi. While Nick Razzaghi's men were active and effective on the flanks, they came up against a well-organized Toronto side marshaled by their captain Oswaldo León, a vocal and imposing defensive leader.

To establish an offensive presence, Inter Toronto relied on set pieces. However, aside from a long-range free kick by Raúl López that sailed well over the bar, Supra goalkeeper Joakim Milli enjoyed a relatively quiet first half.

Under a driving rain, Supra continued to push without creating any clear-cut opportunities, until the weather deteriorated further, forcing the referee to send both teams to the locker room for a 30-minute delay midway through the second half.

This forced break had the merit of delivering a completely different game, featuring a fresh rhythm and dynamic.

"We adjusted a few things during the break," Safwane Mlah stated after the match. "The coach told us that we were capable of scoring and capable of winning. We just needed to enjoy ourselves more on the pitch."

They did exactly that, and it didn't take long for the 22 players to put on a show upon returning to the field.

Following a good interception by Boughanmi on the left flank, Supra circulated the ball perfectly before Sean Rea, at the edge of the box, cut it back to Mlah, whose strike left goalkeeper Kevin Urtiaga with no chance (1-0; 66th minute).

The Supra engine was fully fired up, and Inter Toronto's game plan—which had largely consisted of containing Montreal's attacks—completely unraveled.

Just a few minutes later, David Choinière took advantage of an awkward clearance by León to feed Loïc Kwemi. The forward, who hadn't scored since Matchday 1, found the back of the net with a powerful strike from a tight angle (2-0; 69th minute).

Backed into a corner, Toronto reacted quickly as Mauro Eustaquio's men pulled one back. On a brilliant lofted pass from Béni Badibanga right through the centre, Tomasz Skublak rose high to control the ball on his chest, shrugged off the defense of Ferdinand, and beat Milli with a low, spinning shot on the turn (2-1; 71st minute).

A frantic finish was to be expected, and though clear-cut chances were few and far between, the spectators who braved the rain were rewarded by seeing Sean Rea score his second goal of the season. The midfielder, consistently instrumental in his team's attack, sealed the win by turning in a corner from Abzi at the edge of the area (3-1; 86th minute).

Supra desperately needed a win and secured a crucial result to stay in the thick of the playoff race. For Inter Toronto, the evening marked their first defeat of the season. A "poor match," remarked coach Mauro Eustaquio, who seemed eager to quickly move past it.
