TORONTO - Inter Toronto Football Club announces that Estevan Alonzo Cobena has joined the Inter Toronto Pathway ahead of the 2026 Ontario Premier League season.

Born in Toronto, Canada, the 16-year-old centre-back brings intelligence, physicality, and defensive awareness to the back line. A right-footed defender who also holds Chilean and Ecuadorian nationality, Cobena has developed with Inter Toronto III following previous experience with Brampton East, Peñarol North Futsal, Barcelona Academy, Woodbridge SC, and AIFC.

A composed and reliable defender, Cobena stands out for his ability to read the game and make strong decisions under pressure. He combines physical defending, including well-timed challenges, with positional awareness and an understanding of when to press or hold his line, allowing him to manage defensive situations effectively.

His background includes a wide range of competitive experiences across both outdoor and futsal environments, along with multiple achievements such as U9 Brampton East Top Goal Scorer honours, Canadian futsal recognition, FTF championship titles, and appearances at higher levels including League2 reserve call-ups and matches against NCAA programs in the United States. He has also represented Canada at the U13 level and competed internationally in Colombia.

Cobena’s pathway to Inter Toronto came through the tryout process, His performances in a competitive environment allowed him to secure his place within the club.

His journey reflects a high level of commitment, including extensive travel across multiple countries such as Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and the United States in pursuit of development opportunities.
