Vancouver FC made club history this past week with a five-star performance against FC Supra du Québec on Friday.
It was the first time in club history that they had scored five in a match, which came in a 5-1 win over FC Supra du Québec.
The scoring was started by midfielder Damiano Pecile, whose lovely stepover and strike into the bottom corner put Vancouver FC up 1-0 in the 21st minute.
Just ten minutes later, Pecile volleyed a deflected corner kick off the turf and onto the head of teammate Matteo Campagna — who made it 2-0.
With a goal and an assist, Pecile has been named the Canadian Premier League's Maple Lodge Player of the Week for Week 13.
He also played in five crosses and had four shot attempts during 62 minutes of action.
It is the second consecutive week a Vancouver FC player has been named the league's Player of the Week. Matchweek 12 saw hat-trick hero Mohamed Amissi take home the honours.
With nine goals in their past two league matches, Vancouver FC look to make it three straight wins when they host Cavalry FC on Friday, July 24 (7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET, on OneSoccer, Tickets available here).
