TORONTO, ON – Inter Toronto Football Club is proud to announce that Pathway product Chimaobim Onyeocha has been selected to represent the Canada Men's U-16 National Team for an international training camp and friendly matches against Chile later this month in Santiago.

The camp marks another important milestone in Onyeocha's development and comes just months after he signed his first professional Development Contract with Inter Toronto before becoming the youngest player in club history to make his Canadian Premier League debut.

Onyeocha's journey reflects the club's player development model. After being identified through Inter Toronto's scouting network, he earned his place through the club's Pathway tryouts before progressing through the academy environment, advancing from the U-17 team to the U-20 squad and ultimately into the professional environment with the First Team.

Canada's U-16 National Team, led by Head Coach Adam Miller, will face Chile in two international friendly matches on August 20 and August 23 at the ANFP Federación de Fútbol de Chile training facility in Santiago. The camp forms part of Canada Soccer's preparations for the 2027 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers, while providing players with valuable experience against international opposition.

Onyeocha's selection is the latest example of Inter Toronto's commitment to developing Canadian talent and creating meaningful opportunities for young players to progress from the academy to the professional and international levels.

Everyone at Inter Toronto congratulates Obi on this well-deserved achievement and wishes him the very best as he represents Canada in Chile.
