Former Cavalry FC defender Joel Waterman has been named to the Canadian Men's National Team 26-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Waterman was drafted by Cavalry as the 14th overall pick in the 2018 CPL U-SPORTS draft and joined the squad ahead of the 2019 season. He recorded 25 appearances for the Cavs across all competitions. He played a pivotal role in the club's success in it's inaugural season.

“He's a terrific human being and a terrific football player who has shown his versatility to get into any system, any style of play, and any manager,” said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Head Coach & General Manager, Cavalry FC. “We wish him the best of luck and send our support.”
