Cavalry FC announced Thursday the club has signed forward Hassan Ayari through the 2027 Canadian Premier League season, with an option for 2028.
Ayari, 23, began his playing career in 2014 in Northern Ireland with TW Braga. He was a member of their academy until 2019, where he later moved to Sheffield United and developed within their youth system. He scored a brace on his U-23 debut for the side.
In 2024, Ayari signed a professional contract with Toronto FC II. He went on to make 50 appearances in MLS Next Pro and netted 18 goal contributions. Most recently, he played for Bulgarian second-division side OFC Vihren Sandanski during the 2025/2026 season. He made 12 appearances and netted three goal contributions.
“Hassan brings more attacking quality to our team,” said Cavalry head coach and general manager Tommy Wheeldon Jr. “He’s a very technical player that’s really good in tight spaces and has a strong change of pace. He’s had a very rounded development and proven ability to score or create goals.”
Born in New York, Ayari is of Tunisian descent and represents Tunisia at the international level. He has so far made eight appearances for the Tunisia U-20 national team.
