For the first time in 664 days, Forge FC lost a CPL match in Hamilton this past Friday.
Red-hot Vancouver FC came to town and handed them a 1-0 loss, which just happened to be the Eagles' fifth straight win.
Forge FC had no shortage of chances during the 90, with seven shots on target and 22 attempts. None of them, however, could beat Callum Irving in net. It was Irving's second clean sheet of the season.
Irving made seven saves, including a stunning diving stop on Ismael Oketokoun in the 66th minute, to keep his side in front.
For his heroic performance, Irving was named the league's Maple Lodge Player of the Week for Matchweek 16.
Irving is the third different Vancouver FC player to be named the CPL's Player of the Week in the past five matchweeks, further underlining the quality of football they have been playing lately.
Vancouver FC look to continue their ascent on Friday as they host Vancouver FC in the Salish Sea Derby (6 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET) on OneSoccer and CBC Gem. Get tickets here.
