Five days after losing the TELUS Canadian Championship semifinal, FC Supra responded with a composed 2–0 win at Atlético Ottawa — and kept its first CPL season moving.
The cup run ended. The season did not.
FC Supra’s Canadian Championship run ended in Hamilton, one goal short of the final.
The disappointment was real. But five days later, there was no time to dwell on it. At TD Place, the response had to come through the soccer.
It did.
The 2–0 victory was built on control, energy and a team willing to move forward rather than simply recover.
The performance came before the goals
At half-time, the score was still 0–0. The match, however, had already begun to take shape.
Loïc Kwemi moved constantly across Ottawa’s back line. Ibrahim Condé offered a strong presence in the box, while Zachary Brault-Guillard and Diyaeddine Abzi pushed forward from the flanks.
FC Supra finished the first half with 10 attempts. Ottawa goalkeeper Chris Kalongo delayed the breakthrough, while Joakim Milli made the saves required of him, including an important intervention early in the second half.
The scoreline had not yet reflected the performance.
The intent was clear. FC Supra had not travelled to Ottawa to absorb pressure and wait for an opening. It pressed, combined and attacked with purpose.
