Canada have been drawn into Group B of the UEFA Friendship Cup 2026

On Friday, Canada Soccer announced its men's U-17 national team squad for the UEFA Friendship Cup 2026 in Switzerland.

Canada will compete in Group B with Brazil (Sept. 24), Côte d'Ivoire (Sept. 27) and Spain (Sept. 30) before playing a final placement match on Oct. 3 based on their results.

Three Canadian Premier League players have been called up by Canada for the competition: Halifax Wanderers fullback Ilan Ahmed, FC Supra du Québec attacker Alexander Makarova and Cavalry FC defender Daniel Pribytov.

Ahmed was named to the Canadian Premier League's Gatorade Team of the Week for Matchweek 21 after making his first professional start, where he earned an assist in Halifax's 2-0 win over FC Supra du Québec.

Supra's 17-year-old winger Makarova has now made two appearances in both the CPL and Canadian Championship, including starting in a 1-0 win over Forge last season.

Pribytov, 17, signed a Development Contract with Cavalry FC on August 20 following his time with Cavalry FC II in the Alberta Premier League (APL).

All matches will be played at Centre spotif de Colovray in Nyon, Switzerland, and will be streamed live on the UEFA YouTube Channel.
