2026 Telus Canadian Championship
Canada Soccer’s TELUS Canadian Championship is the nation’s highest domestic knockout tournament featuring clubs from coast to coast competing for the Voyageurs Cup. The Men’s 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship brings together 15 qualified clubs from Major League Soccer, the Canadian Premier League, and Premier Soccer Leagues Canada to determine Canada’s best team in the annual Battle of the North. Winners of the domestic TELUS Canadian Championship qualify for the annual international competition Concacaf Champions Cup on the road to the FIFA Club World Cup.
The George Gross Memorial Trophy recognises the Most Valuable Player of the Canadian Championship. The trophy was named in honour of George Gross, a former soccer player, manager and publisher who is an honoured member of the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame.
Winners of the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship lift the Voyageurs Cup and qualify the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.
The TELUS Canadian Championship is a separate tournament which takes place alongside our Canadian Premier League Regular Season matches. Learn more about the tournament here!

Cavalry FC's History in the TELUS Canadian Championship
We made our tournament debut in 2019, where we notably won 2-1 against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Semi-Final round of the tournament, which was the club’s best ever Canadian Championship cup run.
We have appeared in the tournament every year since (excluding 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic) and we will be on the hunt to make our first championship final round appearance in this year’s tournament.
In the 2024 campaign, Cavalry FC faced Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Quarter-Final, where they notably defeated the MLS team 2-1 in Leg Two at BC Place.
