TORONTO - Inter Toronto Football Club announces that Luca Lopez Pineda has joined the Inter Toronto Pathway ahead of the 2026 Ontario Premier League season.
Born in Markham, Ontario, the 17-year-old full-back operates on both the left and right, bringing defensive intensity and versatility across the back line. A right-footed player who also holds Nicaraguan and Italian nationality, Lopez Pineda has developed with Inter Toronto II following previous experience across multiple environments, including time in Italy and with clubs such as Peñarol North Futbol Club, Juventus/Glen Shields, Vaughan Soccer Club, Club Uruguay, and IFC.
An aggressive full-back, Lopez Pineda stands out for his willingness to engage in challenges and his ability to make decisive actions in defensive situations. His playing style is defined by intensity and decision-making, allowing him to compete consistently and contribute on both sides of the ball.
His journey with Inter Toronto follows a trial period in Italy with Pescara Calcio, where he continued to build toward his objective of pursuing a professional career before joining the club through the tryout process in October.
Lopez Pineda’s development has also been shaped by resilience, particularly in overcoming injury setbacks that required both physical recovery and mental strength. That process reinforced his focus and commitment, as he worked to regain his level and earn his place back on the pitch.
“I am proud to be a member of a professional academy where I can demonstrate my skills in a supportive environment ,” said Lopez Pineda. “The pathway is a great way to show how hard work pays off, if you put in work on and off the pitch you will see yourself going up to within the club or even first team”.
For Lopez Pineda, the pathway represents a clear opportunity to progress, with a direct link to higher levels of competition and the chance to continue advancing through performance and consistency.
