Upcoming Suspensions

As of May 4, 2026.

The accumulation of five (5) yellow cards in Canadian Premier League regular season matches will result in a one-game suspension, to be served immediately after the player’s fifth offence. Additional one-game punishments shall be issued after the accumulation of eight (8) and 11 yellow cards, respectively.

Where a player plays in five (5) consecutive league matches, either as a starter or a substitute, without receiving a yellow card or red card or other discipline sanction, the player’s yellow card accumulation total will automatically be reduced by one yellow card. This is known as the Good Behaviour Incentive. The Good Behaviour Incentive does not apply to cautions received in the Canadian Championship.

Yellow card accumulation for players will be reset at the end of the 2026 CPL Regular Season on Sunday, Oct. 25.
