Inter Toronto Pathway player Davin Chhoeun is representing Cambodia at the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers, gaining valuable international experience as part of the country’s U20 national team.
Cambodia is hosting Group G in Phnom Penh from August 31 to September 6, competing alongside Yemen, Japan and Kuwait for a place at next year’s AFC U20 Asian Cup in China.
Chhoeun began the qualifying campaign on August 31 as Cambodia opened the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Yemen at the Olympic Stadium.
The Inter Toronto player also made his mark on the match, converting a penalty in the 56th minute to score Cambodia’s second goal and ultimately help secure all three points for the hosts.
Cambodia will continue its qualifying campaign against Japan on September 3, before facing Kuwait on September 6 in its final Group G fixture.
The tournament provides Chhoeun with the opportunity to compete in meaningful international matches while continuing his development within the Inter Toronto Pathway.
His involvement with Cambodia is another example of Pathway players gaining experience at different levels of the game, with the club continuing to provide an environment designed to support players as they progress toward future opportunities within the professional game.
Inter Toronto will continue to follow Davin and Cambodia throughout the remainder of the qualifying campaign.
